Bonnie Beachner

We, the 2001 Genesee Valley WBA Hall of Fame Committee, would like to recognize Bonnie Beachner as the 33rd recipient of this year's prestigious award.

Bonnie has been a member of the GVWBA for over 20 years.  She has held high average in the years of 1993-94 (193); 1996-97 (190); 1999-00 (192); and 2000-01 (199).  She was a member of the GVWBA championship team in 1991, 1994, 1998 and 200.  Last year she decided to win everything.  As I said, she was part of the team that won first place in our tournament and she then went on to win the doubles event with Karen Bonner (1228).  She won the singles event (763, the highest in our history).  She won both all events (2124 handicap and 2061 scratch).  No one has ever won all three events.  Bonnie also won the all events scratch this year.

Bonnie has bowled on several teams that have won the Lilac Tournament in Rochester.  Her team won first place again this year.  She has placed first in the mixed team, the ladies singles and mixed doubles with her husband, Bill, at the Wild Irish Rose Tournament in Canandaigua.  I am sure we have not covered all the bowling honors that Bonnie has garnered over the years but this will give you an idea of what she has accomplished.

Bonnie has a great sense of humor and a kind heart.  She is always willing to help other bowlers to bowl better.  She is a good sport and enjoys what she does.  Bonnie will always tell you there are three men instrumental in her bowling success with their coaching and guiding her.  They are Al Brewer, Perry Bowling Hall of Fame recipient and an excellent bowler; her brother, Ken Wachholder, proprietor of Livingston Lanes; and her husband, Bill, proprietor of Perry Bowling Center.

Barb Kosciolek

We, the 2000 GVWBA Hall of Fame Committee, recognize Barbara Kosciolek as the recipient of this year's award.

Barbara has been a member of Genesee Valley WBA for over 30 years and has bowled in 3 to 5 leagues during a season.  She has bowled in more than 15 Association tournaments, 4 State tournaments and 3 National tournaments.  Barbara has been on 3 league first place teams and has received several high average awards.  She also won the GVWBA high scratch game award (290) in the 1998-99 season and in 1995-96 with a 279.

Barbara was secretary of the Thursday "B" League for 10 years and Sergeant-at-Arms of the Diet Pepsi Ladies Classic League in 1998.

In July of 1997, she competed in the NYS Empire Games, Masters Division, for the first time.  During competition she bowled her first ever 300 game and 800 series (825).  Her previous high game was 279 and series was 686.  Her performance at the games broke all previous records in the Masters Division.  She won 4 gold medals of a possible 4 and 1 bronze.  The competition was held in Albany that year.

Barbara has competed in many National Polish Falcon tournaments and was on the first place team in 1995 held in Erie, PA.

Barbara is an active member in her church and signs in the choir and serves on several committees.

Nancy Vallese

The 1998 Hall of Fame Committee honored Nancy Vallese with this prestigious award.  Nancy has been bowling for 43 years, 40 of those years in the Genesee Valley WBA and in the same league.  She has participated in over 20 WIBC, New York State WBA and Genesee Valley WBA tournaments.

Nancy has been a National 500 Club member for 14 years and a charter member of the NYS 500 Club, serving such offices as Sergeant-at-Arms for 12 years and Chaplain for 2 years.  She also helped form our local 500 Club.

She has held an office in her Tuesday Night League and has been on committees at the state and local level.  Nancy was Secretary-Treasurer of our own GVWBA for 5 years, 3rd Vice-President for 10 years and is currently serving as 2nd Vice-President.

When Nancy was Secretary-Treasurer, she implemented the first average book.  She also did a "first" by holding the Genesee Valley WBA tournament at Mancuso Lanes with team and doubles and singles events being held at the same time.  Thus, the tournament only lasted 2 weeks.

Nancy also started and still handles the bookwork for our lottery fundraiser.  With the proceeds from this fund, we have made substantial contributions to the BVL and the Scholarship Fund.

Nancy Vallese has made many contributions to all aspects of bowling and we are pleased to welcome her as our newest member of the Genesee Valley Women's bowling Association.

Connie's performance record is as follows:  3 all spare games; 75 & 100 pins over average; high series; most improved; WIBC special award.  Her high series is 667, high game of 256 and her highest average is 182.  In 1990 and 1993, she won the "Bowler of the Week" Tournament at Brae Burn; placed 2nd in the 1992 NYS 600 Tournament; 3rd place in the 1996 Lilac Mixed Team event; 5th place in the 1996 Women's Team event of the Western Central Tournament; 10th place in all events at the WIBC Tournament in Tucson, AZ; 3rd place in the 1997 NYS Tournament; and won the all-events and doubles portion of the 1997 GVWBA Tournament.  She's definitely a TEAM PLAYER!

Sandy Grant

The Hall of Fame Committee recognizes Sandra Grant as a recipient of the 1999 Hall of Fame Award.

Sandy started bowling in the junior program at Attica Lanes at age 12.  She also served as secretary of the junior league while she was an active member.  In 1969 she earned a bronze medal for a 225 game while bowling on the junior tournament championship team.

After bowling in Attica after high school, she joined the Classic League at Mancuso Bowling Center in 1974 and continued through 1980.  She then bowled in the Friday Morning Scratch League for several seasons.  It was in this league she posted the first 700 series bowled at Mancuso's by a female in March of 1985.  Her scores were 236, 197 and 280 for a 713.  This was the third 700 series rolled in Genesee Valley WBA.

Her numerous achievements include Association high average in 1984 of 186; 1998 high average of 200 (the second recorded in GVWBA) for which she received a 200 average pin from WIBC.  She has career high games of 288, Association high in 1984; 280 high in 1985; series of 713 in 1985.  She has been on several first place teams in her leagues and received many high game, high series and high average league awards along with a most improved award of 15 pins in 1985.  In 1998, Sandy rolled a 600 plus series 16 out of 29 weeks to achieve her 200 average.

In 1992 Sandy was instrumental in re-establishing the YABA program at Mancuso Bowling Center, working with manager Mike Pettinella and his wife, Wendy.  She served as director and secretary-treasurer of the league.  This program attracts about 200 area youth bowlers a season.  She continued her work with the YABA league through 1997.

Sandy has competed in many tournaments over the years, including GVWBA 600 Club, team doubles and singles, Johnson-Ianni doubles, US Postal Service, VA Medical Center Bowl Down Cancer and Crossroads House tournaments.

Sandy has achieved all of these accomplishments bowling only one night a week over the years.  Due to a back injury she sustained in April of 1998, her bowling career has come to an abrupt end.  It is our privilege to present this well-earned 1999 Hall of Fame award to Sandy.  Congratulations on all you have given to the sport and achieved during your bowling career.

Norine O'Connell

We, the 1999 Hall of Fame Committee, would like to recognize Norine O'Connell as a recipient of this year's award.

Norine was active in the sport of bowling for many years, both in performance and service.  She and her husband were proprietors of Livingston Lanes in Geneseo for years.  She was instrumental in the YABA leagues in Livingston working with youth bowlers.  One of her most well-known students is Judy Koester, currently of Rochester, NY.  We are sure Norine is proud of all of Judy's accomplishments in bowling.

Norine's list of accomplishments in bowling are numerous.  Her GVWBA awards are as follows:  1965-66 season high game of 277 and average of 182; in 1967 high average of 179; in 1968 high average of 191; 1970 high average of 182; 1971 high average of 186; 1972 high average of 180; 1983 high average of 184; 1984 high series of 727 (only the second in GVWBA history at that time); 1995 high average of 184.  Norine still holds a GVWBA record for being recognized 8 years with association high average.  She also received numerous high game, high series and high average awards in her leagues.

Norine is no longer competing in bowling but surely left a mark in our Association and is very deserving of this award.

Linda Rule

Linda Rule from Arcade, NY is the newest inductee into the Genesee Valley WBA Hall of Fame.

Linda has bowled since September of 1966 and bowls at Arcade Lanes.  She presently bowls tow nights a week, has held offices in both leagues and is currently secretary of the Gladys Ford Thursday Night League.  Linda has also served as Chairman of the GVWBA Nominating Committee for several years.

Over the years, Linda has been awarded many trophies for her bowling achievements but her greatest achievement has been the Junior Bowling Program which she and her sister started in 1979.  Linda's leadership and love for the game of bowling has keep bowling alive in Aracde.

Laurel Buchinger

The 1995 Hall of Fame recipient, Laurel Buchinger, is well deserving of this award.  Laurel works hard at whatever task she undertakes.

Laurel has been bowling approximately 40 years in as many as two or three leagues at Letchworth Pines and Livingston Lanes.  She has held the office of president and secretary-treasurer in these leagues, serving in various offices since 1970.  She has received various awards of high game, series, average, 1st place teams and achievement awards in these leagues.  Her high game is 279 and she has had a 694 series.

Laurel is a coach/director at Letchworth Lanes for the junior bowling program helping these potential adult league bowlers learn the game of bowling and, most of all, sportsmanship and how to have fun in a YABA program.  We have to admire someone who gives up every Saturday morning for the YABA program.  She has served as past secretary-treasurer and past president in our Genesee Valley YABA and she has attended numerous workshops and conventions of YABA.

Laurel has been a director for GVWBA for Letchworth Pine Lanes since 1985 and has served on various committees including Hall of Fame, Memorial Service and others.

She has been to numerous state, national, GVWBA, Queens, 600 local and state tournaments.  She has also served as a delegate to national and state conventions.

I believe most of us know of Laurel's craftsmanship, especially with wood and paint.  Laurel is responsible for the wooden box (with penguin) that holds our Hall of Fame trophies.  You may have been at one of the dinners where she has made very clever favors and table decorations.

Pat Sharpe, Jr.

We, the committee of the 1994 Hall of Fame, are honored to present one of this year's awards to Pat Sharpe, Jr.

We believe Pat has been bowling for 12 years and, in this time, has proven herself as an excellent bowler with many awards to her credit.  Pat has bowled on winning teams, each of them being in different leagues.  In 1985 she won the NYS doubles award and also, in the same year, she won the GVWBA team award and all-events award.  In 1989 Pat bowled a 290 game winning the GVWBA high game award.  This was also the highest game ever bowled by a woman at Livingston Lanes.

Pat served as a GVWBA director from 1986-1988 and as our secretary-treasurer from 1988-1991.  She implemented our computer system for averages and other association business.  Pat has held many league offices  in as many as three leagues and summer leagues.  Pat has served our Association well with her involvement as a delegate to both state and national conventions and working on committees and her latest acceptance of the job as Association historian.

Pat belongs to the GVWBA, state and national 600 Clubs and bowls in their tournaments and in the NYS Queens tournament.  All this shows her love for the game of bowling.

Pat represented Western NY in the Empire State Games both in 1993 and 1994 after qualifying in the regionals.  In 1993 she won a bronze medal and in 1994 a silver medal in the trios.

Jean Gardner

The Hall of Fame Committee of the GVWBA wishes to present our 1994 Hall of Fame award posthumously to Jean Gardner.

This nomination was being prepared with the feeling and hope that Jean would be here to accept it if she were chosen to be the recipient of the 1994 award.  On August 31st, Jean was chosen by God and would behind a void in the lives of husband, Paul, children, Paul, Jr. and Jean Marie, grandchildren and friends.

Jean bowled for 44 years...at times in three leagues.  Not only did Jean give her time and energy to bowling but taught school in Warsaw until her retirement four years ago.  She also spent many hours doing volunteer work at her church.

Jean became a director in 1972.  She was elected to 2nd VP of GVWBA and served in that position from 1974-1982 whereupon she became 1st VP, an office that she held at the time of her untimely death.  Jean served on many committees, one of them, Budget & Finance, for many years.

The first Senior GVWBA tournament was held in 1985 with Jean being on the committee.  In 1989, along with Billie Grover, they were chairperson and tournament manager.  A few years ago Jean took over from Billie at the time of her retirement.  She took care of all entries and ran the tournaments with supervision that only a well prepared and well organized person can achieve.  Jean was elated when, in 1989, she won the Class D championship.  She was in charge of the senior bus trips to the NYS Seniors tournament (along with Maggie Worth and Bonnie Stockholm).  She made all the arrangements for hotels, restaurants and made the trip enjoyable for all.

Jean bowled in GVWBA tournaments from 1950-1974 as well as 17 state tournaments and three national tournaments.  At the time of her retirement, feeling she had more time, she was nominated and elected to serve as a delegate at both state and national meetings the past three years.

The Committee feels this award is most deserving and long overdue and we know Jean will be missed by all.  We wish to present this award to Jean's husband, Paul, for all Jean contributed to the GVWBA.

Barbara Kreiley

We, the Committee of the 1993 Hall of Fame, are honored to present this year's award to our GVWBA President, Barbara Kreiley.

Barb's involvement in bowling and the Association speak louder than any words we can say but we would be remiss if they were not mentioned.

Barb has bowled for 29 years, at present in three leagues at Brae Burn in Dansville.  At various times she has served as president, vice-president and secretary-treasurer of those leagues, also receiving honors for high average in two leagues in the 1985-86 season.

Barb is a past director of Brae Burn from 1977-1988.  In 1988 she was elected as President of GVWBA and holds that position at this time.  She has bowled in 18 GVWBA, 20 state and 9 national tournaments.  Barb has been a dedicated delegate to both state and national meetings since 1984, going to these meetings and tournaments with an enthusiasm few can surpass...that is if you don't count the time she was caught napping outside the NYS meeting room.

Barb has served as president of our 600 Club, bowling in local, state and national tournaments.  In 1989 she placed fifth in the National 600 tournament in Bismarck, ND.  Barb has been requested to submit her name to run as a director of the NYS 600 Club with elections being held at the June 1994 meeting.

Barb taught junior bowling for 16 years at Brae Burn instilling in many a love of bowling.  To turn to the other side of the coin, she was found keeping score and helping out at our Seniors tournament...even going along on a NYS Senior tournament bus trip to NYC as an on-looker.  She has now reached that magic age for the Seniors tournaments and bowled in her first one a few weeks ago.

Many of you probably do not realize the amount of time that Barb spends at meetings and functions that our Association is invited to...from workshops to association anniversary celebrations.  She feels our Association should be represented and makes every effort to be there.

One day you may walk into a bowling establishment and find Barb on hands and knees with the tools of her job of doing lane certifications making sure the lanes meet specifications of WIBC and ABC.

You all may wonder does she have a life outside of bowling?  Yes, she does.  She has a very demanding job with the State of New York, four adult daughters and, evidently, a very understanding husband.

Margaret Myers

We, the committee of the 1992 Hall of Fame are honored to present one of this year's awards to Margaret Myers.

Margaret has been bowling in leagues for over 50 years.  She has held various offices in many leagues that she has bowled in, along with serving on various committees in those leagues.  She helped her husband, Neal, for 15 years while he was secretary of the Men's Commercial League.  She was active with Marion and Al Masse at the Moose Lanes with the Batavia Bowling League 35 years ago.

Margaret has bowled in many tournaments and you never have to ask her twice if she wants to go.  She has bowled in county, state and national tournaments plus State Seniors.  In 1985, the first Seniors Tournament in the GVWBA Association, Margaret took first place in the Class B Group.  It is not unusual to see her name somewhere on the prize list.  Margaret is a member of the 600 Club and has also participated in regional and local tournaments.

Perhaps Margaret has not served our Association with being an officer or director but in many ways promotes the sport of bowling, at present bowling in three leagues.  If ever a "Good Samaritan" award was named in this area, Margaret's name would be right on top.  Margaret has been a registered nurse for 55 years and there are not many in the area who have not experienced her expertise and compassion.  Even though she has retired from nursing, if anyone ever has any kind of a problem or crisis, anyone that knows Margaret knows she will be the first one there.  She has also worked as a volunteer for our Genesee County Meals on Wheels.

Margaret just celebrated her 77th birthday this month and a day in the life of Margaret Myers may go like this:  arise at 5:30 or 6:00 a.m.; walk five miles; on sunny days walk 18 holes of golf at Terry Hill Country Club; and since her daughter returned to full time employment, goes to her home, feeds the dog, does the dishes, cleans up the house and folds laundry.  During the summer Margaret takes care of her own yard and also two of her neighbor's yards and, in between, for any occasion, she is there with a cake.  A favorite expression often heard from younger people is "I can't keep up with her".  Whoever has known Margaret, whether it has been social, professional or both, have had their lives enriched by knowing this great lady.

Margaret Worth

We, the committee of the 1992 Hall of Fame, are honored to present one of this year's awards to Margaret Worth, better known to all of us as Maggie.

Maggie has been bowling for 47 years.  She has bowled in many leagues and was a secretary-treasurer of the Moose Tuesday Nite "A" League from 1974 to 1982.

Maggie has bowled in 18 national tournaments, 21 state tournaments and 25 GVWBA tournaments and in our GVWBA seniors tournament.  She has also bowled in the NYS seniors tournaments, along with helping make arrangements for buses and hotels.  She is a member of the 500 Club and has bowled in their tournaments.

Maggie has served as a delegate to WIBC for 20 years and NYS for 21 years.  She coached junior bowling at Mancuso's from 1971-1978.  Maggie is a past director of the Moose Lanes from 1974 to 1988 and Director at Mancuso's from 1988 to present.  She has served on the Finance and Budget Committee since 1986, also serving on seniors tournament, Association fundraisers and the 50th Anniversary Committee this year.  She orders all of the candy and calendars for sale each year and works many hours getting them sold.

Maggie does have a life outside of bowling and the Association and you probably wonder, where does she get the time?  She is married to Jerry, has two daughters, and had a full time job at the OTB office, from which she recently retired.

With Maggie's happy personality, she is an asset to represent our Association at any function that she attends, from national and state meetings to tournaments.  She is tireless in her efforts for our Association and takes on any job...big or small.  Some of you may best remember her by her never ending roll of 50-50 tickets at meetings, bus trips and tournaments.

A quote that many of us have heard often is "if you want a job well done, give it to a busy person" and, feeling that this fits Maggie, we the committee feel Maggie Worth deserves to be a member of the Genesee Valley WBA Hall of Fame.

June Warner

The 1991 Hall of Fame Committee would like to nominate June Warner.  June has been a member of GVWBA for 16 years and currently bowls in three leagues.  She has participated in GVWBA and NYS tournaments, as well as the NYS Queens, NYS 600, GVWBA 600 and Lilac City Tournament.

She had high series awards in 1985-86; 1986-87; 1987-88; and 1988-89 and carried high average in 1987-88 and 1988-89, as well as many other league awards.  In 1982 she received a plaque from NYS for rolling a 629 during tournament competition.  In 1990 she won the GVWBA all-events scratch award.  She has rolled two 700 series - a 737 in 1986 and a 705 in 1988 and also has received a WIBC pin for her games of 277 and 278.

June has served as league president, vice-president and secretary-treasurer as well as serving on banquet and Christmas party committees.  She is currently on the board of directors of GVWBA serving as director from Batavia Bowling Center and serves as a member of the Scholarship and BVL committees.

In addition to her own busy bowling schedule, she also has assisted YABA leagues at the Batavia Moose, Scopano's and Batavia Bowling Center.  June was also a charter member of the Batavia Cycle Center Ladies Classic League.

Bonnie Stockholm

We the committee of the Hall of Fame wish to present this year's award to Bonnie Stockholm.

Bonnie started bowling 30 years ago and is currently bowling in one league.

She is a past president, vice-president and sergeant-at-arms of many leagues.  She has served on many committees as well as being chairman of several NYSWBA committees.  She is currently on two or three in the GVWBA as well as being second vice-president.

Bonnie has been a delegate to state and national for many years.  She bowled in the NYSWBA for at least 20 years and the WIBC since 1973.  She is a 500 Club and 600 Club member an has bowled in tournaments in both.

Her team has taken first place honors many times.

She helps keep score at tournaments and helps with fund raisers  She is always ready to do whatever is asked of her.

Bonnie enjoys taking the seniors to tournaments.  She has driven them to many in the past several years.

*Edna Hinz

We, the Committee of the Hall of Fame, would like to present this year's award to Edna Hinz.

Edna has spent the last 15 years bowling in six leagues - two on Tuesday, one on Wednesday and three on Thursday.  She assists in scorekeeping, auditing scores and preparing score sheets.  She also bowls on summer leagues.

Edna has bowled in many Genesee Valley WBA, NYSWBA and WIBC tournaments.  Until the death of Gladys Ford, Edna assisted with the Seniors Tournament as well.  She was a member of the 600 Club and the secretary of four leagues, as well as a participant in Peterson Point.  Because of Edna's interest and love of bowling, she made it enjoyable for her teammates.  She always got the evening off to a good start by telling a joke.  Due to illness, Edna has not been able to bowl since last May.

When Edna isn't bowling, she works closely with her husband, Roland, in raising money for the community and county.  They join in activities such as the Arcade Winterfest, the Wyoming County Fair and the Caravan for Cancer.  They raised the most money for the Wyoming County Cancer Society and was the lead wagon for many years.  In 1990, due to Edna's illness, they were unable to participate in the event.  Therefore, the committee decided the event should be in honor of Edna and Roland Hinz.

*Harriet Robinson

Harriett started league bowling in 1947 in what was then the State Street Alleys in Nunda, NY.  During her years of bowling, Harriet has won many awards, the most prestigious in 1988, the NYSWBA Permanent Membership Award for having participated in 20 or more state championship tournaments.  When she participated in the 1964-65 GVWBA tournament, Harriet won the following awards:  All-events, handicap with a score of 1886; All-events, scratch with a score of 1706; and Singles with a score of 683.  Harriet is credited with an all spare game during the period of 1955 to 1989 and has been a member of 18 first place teams in league bowling. Harriet's highest average was 170.

Harriet has the distinct honor of being the first GVWBA member to bowl a 700 series.  She accomplished this feat at Livingston Lanes on February 23, 1963 with a score of 701.  Harriet is a member of the NYSWBA 700 Club, National 600 Club, NYSWBA 600 Club and the GVWBA 600 Club.

Harriet has been a delegate to NYSWBA convention yearly since 1983.  She has represented GVWBA as a delegate to the WIBC convention numerous times.  She has been a director for GVWBA for many years and currently represents Mt. Morris Lanes as their director.  Harriet has served in the past in the position of league vice-president, and secretary-treasurer and is currently secretary-treasurer of two leagues.  Harriet volunteers much of her time to GVWBA, especially at tournament time helping with the preparation of score sheets, keeping and auditing scores.  She is always ready and willing to help out whenever and wherever needed.

When not on the lanes, Harriet can be found on the golf course as she is also an avid golfer.  She has a son, Michael; daughter-in-law, Kay; and two grandsons, Kevin and Scott.  Harriet is a good and loyal friend to all of us and we are proud to be associated with her.  We are elated that she was selected as the recipient of the 1989-90 GVWBA Hall of Fame award, a most deserving award to a most deserving lady.

Jess Kendrick

Jess started bowling in Livonia in what used to be the Old Opera House which later burned down (Jess says it wasn't because of her "hot" bowling).  She went on to become a four night a week bowler - Wednesday with the G.R.S. League in Rochester and Thursday, Saturday and Sunday with the GVWBA.  She was the secretary on all four leagues, as well as treasurer on two of them.  Jess held these positions for over 30 years.  While commuting back and forth to her job in Rochester, Jess carried a typewriter with her and did the league secretarial duties in the back seat of her car.

Jess has bowled in at least 25 (possibly more) national tournaments and has never missed a NYS tournament.  Last year she placed in the NYS tournament and received a check for $36.  Not only is Jess an avid bowler but she has gotten many people interested in the game.  A few years ago her daughter's home burned on the first night of league bowling and her teammates thought she would not come to bowl -but she did, stating "I'm the secretary and this is the first night of bowling and I have to be here".

In 1988 Jess turned 88 years of age.  She gave up her secretarial/treasurer duties two years prior so she could devote more time to the piano lessons she was taking.  Jess still works seven hours a day, five days a week and bowls on two leagues.  Jess says "nobody was more surprised that myself to find I had been inducted in the GVWBA Hall of Fame.  I always assumed such an honor went to terrific bowlers".  Not only are you a terrific bowler, Jess, but you are also a true sportswoman and your dedication and enthusiasm to the game of bowling is to be commended.

We are honored to know and be associated with this great leady and cannot think of anyone more deserving to be the recipient of the 1987-88 GVWBA Hall of Fame Award than Jess Kendrick.

Molly Holland

I hereby submit the name of Mrs. Molly Holland in nomination for the Hall of Fame award.

Molly and her husband, Mick, live in Arcade, NY and have two sons, ages 12 and 9.  She has been a member of GVWBA since 1969 when she started bowling as a substitute.

She has maintained the high average in the Tuesday Night Ladies League for eight out of nine years (1973-1982).  She holds the all time high average of 183 in this league (1982-83) plus the all time high series of 663 (1973-74).  She also served as league president for three years (1973-76).

In the Thursday Night Ladies League, she carried the high average for ten years (1972-82), her highest of 184 in 1979-80 and she also served as league president for two years (1974-76).

Molly has recently organized the Wednesday Morning Classic League for this season and currently serves as secretary.

In 1979 she became an AJBC certified coach and organized the Arcade I and Arcade II junior leagues which involve about 120 juniors from 6 to 18 years of age.

Molly served six years as secretary of the Saturday Night Couples League which was formed in 1971 and also carried the high average for 8 years (1973-1981).  In the Saturday Night Odd Couples League, she has maintained the high average for the past three seasons (highest of 182 in 1980-81).

Molly has the distinction of receiving the GVWBA high average award for the past six years (tying with Jean Bockhahn last season) and she's done it again this year!

She was the first member to be sponsored by our Association in the NYS Queen's Tournament.  In 1973-74, her 663 series won the GVWBA award.  In tournament play, she captured the GVWBA all-events title in 1975 with a 1722 total.

Molly has 3 WIBC awards in her collection - a triple score patch and two all-spare games.

I believe Molly has shown consistently superior performance in her twelve years of competitive league bowling in our area.

In serving as an officer, in organizing leagues and in giving her time and talent to the junior program, she exemplifies the kind of dedication that we should all strive for in promoting the great game of bowling, regardless of our feeble efforts on the lanes.

Bowling was always a part of her life and she will be greatly missed by all.

Marleene Woodhouse

Marleene is a long time member of our Association and has served as Sergeant-at-Arms since her election to that office in April of 1962.  She has responded graciously and effectively to the many demands placed upon her in addition to fulfilling the duties of her office conscientiously and efficiently.

Gladys Ford

Gladys has done a great deal to further the aims of WIBC and to promote the sport of bowling in our own area.

She has participated in at least 20 NYS tournaments.  She has been a delegate to National Convention several times.  She has served on committees faithfully and well and has attended workshops and passed onto others the benefits derived from them.  She served as director from Arcade Lanes for many years until she was elected third vice-president of the Association in 1976.

In the early 1960's, Gladys served as chairman for the publication of the GVWBA newsletter.  For several years, at about the same time, she was responsible for a winter bowling tournament at Arcade Lanes.  This was given up only when the lanes were no longer available.

Locally she has been active in two leagues for over 20 years having held the position of secretary in both for a good share of that time.  Presently she is secretary for the Thursday Night League only but does far more than required of the position.  At the end of each year she puts together a yearbook for each member containing interesting, unusual or funny things that happened during the year, as well as league statistics.

In light of these facts and having bowled and worked with Gladys, knowing the love and enthusiasm she has for bowling and for all undertakings in connection with WIBC, NYSWBA and GVWBA, she is well deserving of this recognition from her comrades in bowling.
