After these reports, a Credential Committee Report was given with a total of 2885 registered officers, directors and delegates were eligible to vote.

We then went into the legislative part of the meeting with a total of 26 amendments and one resolution to vote on.  After working on these amendments for a little over an hour, we were dismissed for lunch and returned at 2:00 p.m. to again tackle the amendments.  After a total of 3 hours and 48 minutes, we finished with passing 8 amendments, rejecting 15 amendments and 3 others were either withdrawn or referred.  The resolution was approved.

PA-W3 was regarding increase of dues.  After much discussion, an amendment to the amendment was approved to increase WIBC dues to $8 instead of $11.  This was voted on and approved.

PA-W8 was rejected.  Later in the day it was brought back for re-consideration; was discussed and passed.  These regarded dues - optional benefits.

PA-W11 and W12 were local and state by-law revisions.  This means our local GVWBA by-laws will have to be revised to adhere to the new revisions.

The 69th Annual Meeting, held at the Crowne Plaza in Rochester, NY was called to order on Friday, May 18, 2001 at 1:10 p.m. by NYSWBA President, Priscilla "Pat" Zonneville.  We were welcomed by Betty Kingsley, President of the Rochester WBA.  Clover Lanes representative, Cindy Burnett, spoke briefly on behalf of the proprietor on how pleased they were to have both the doubles, singles and team events in one house.  This was their 45th season.

Steve Pierson of the Greater Rochester Visitors Bureau spoke briefly to welcome us all to Rochester and notes some highlights of the area.  A donation of towels and money was presented to the Mary Cariola Center of Rochester.  After this, it was time to get down to business.  The afternoon sped along as various reports were skimmed and the highlights were pointed out.  One report that received much attention was the Acts of the Board.  Some delegates were upset and needed additional clarification.  One of the acts of the board that required much discussion was the action regarding the policy for life members.  After much discussion that even carried over to the second day, the acts of the board were accepted as printed.

The guest speaker from WIBC was Susan Windisch, Director from Iowa.  Susan spoke about the WIBC Star Program, the WIBC mission, which is to identify and fulfill the needs of the bowlers.  Susan also encouraged the delegates and friends to log onto www.bowl.com to find out about the latest news in the bowling industry and also to add any comments concerning Single Membership Organization.

After Susan spoke, those walking in the Breast Cancer Walk were excused.  Betty Kingsley and Barbara Kreiley held an open seminar discussion.  During this discussion, delegates were able to voice their concerns about bowling and where it's going.  After this open discussion, we were dismissed for the evening.  Some delegates enjoyed a banquet hosted by the Rochester WBA while others enjoyed eating at the talked about "Dinosaur Bar-B-Q".  Boy, that was delicious!
