ACTS OF THE BOARD

During the course of conducting business each year, the GVWBA Board of Directors makes certain decisions which impact the local bowler.  Each year at the Spring meeting of the Genesee Valley WBA, the delegation is informed of the "Acts of the Board" during the previous year and are asked to ratify the Board's actions.

Listed below are "Acts of the Board"

August 1, 1998 - May 20, 1999

  • GVWBA, for the 1998-99 bowling season, only, will pay the 50 cent dues increase to be paid to New York State
  • Eliminate the GVWBA meeting at the August Workshop.  The August Workshop will be workshop meeting only and will be a combined workshop with the Perry Bowling Association (Men's)
  • The GVWBA Scholarship award(s) will be increased to $800 (from the previous $500)
  • The GVWBA direct contribution to the Batavia/Buffalo VA Hospital will be increased from $800 to $1000
  • For the 1998-99 season, GVWBA will donate $300 each to Genesee/Wyoming Hospice; Crossroads House (Batavia) and Teresa House (Geneseo)
  • GVWBA will sponsor (pay the entry fee) the Association high average winner into the NYS Queen's Tournament.  If the high average winner is unable or unwilling to go, we will proceed down the average list
  • GVWBA will sponsor a team entry into the next year's GVWBA Association Tournament by holding a random drawing at the Spring Meeting from those teams entered in the previous year's tournament
  • New GVWBA shirts and jackets will be purchased.  Each director/officer will purchase their own shirt and jacket and GVWBA will pay the cost of having the logo put onto the jacket only.
  • GVWBA will purchase 2 twelve foot banners to publicize our local tournament.  These banners will be displayed each year in the team house and the doubles/singles house prior to the tournament dates.
